Discover Hausham: Nature, Culture and Culinary Delights
Accommodation in Hausham
Hausham combines nature experiences at Huberspitz with winter activities and insights into the town’s history. There is also church music, changing exhibitions, and activities centered on herbs and spirits. You can tailor your stay to a wide range of interests. When looking for accommodation, it helps to first consider whether nature, cross-country skiing, or cultural discoveries should be your main focus.
Experience the forest and enjoy the outdoors
The nature trail at Huberspitz gives you the chance to explore local nature and the mountain forest in Hausham. With activity sheets and rally sheets, the trail offers all visitors, especially school groups, two- to three-hour nature experiences. The elevation gain is around 300 meters, and the trail is not accessible to people with disabilities. The duration, elevation gain, and this limitation are therefore worth factoring into your plans if you include the trail in your day’s itinerary.
In winter, a roughly six-kilometer cross-country ski trail adds to the range of activities. It starts at the central sports complex and runs via the cemetery and the Agatharied fire station to the Haslrain climb. The route can be skied using either the skating or classic technique; its difficulty ranges from easy to moderate. This offers a different way to experience the outdoors in Hausham than the nature trail. Seasonal grooming may vary.
Culture, from church music to mining history
St. Anton is home to the Koulen organ, which has 32 stops and dates from 1911. Regular church concerts have been held there since November 2013. The family-friendly folk festival and the Christmas market also have a regular place in the annual events calendar around St. Anton parish church. The art and cultural center hosts changing exhibitions. Church music, markets, and exhibitions thus offer different ways to experience cultural life in Hausham.
The Hausham Mining Museum illustrates the community’s former mining era. Its collection includes mining tools, mine maps, fossils and minerals, pictures, and mining lamps. It also features numerous detailed models and an original depiction of a mining site. These exhibits bring mining history to life through specific objects and displays.
Discover herbs and spirits
Claudia Bernhardt regularly leads herb walks in the Moosrain pasture. Participants learn about local trees and discover more about how native wild herbs can be used as food and culinary ingredients, in cosmetics, and for other purposes. The subject combines observing nature with exploring how plants can be used in everyday life.
The LANTENHAMMER Experience Distillery in Hausham offers a different perspective on culinary enjoyment. Its interactive, multimedia, self-guided experience tour explores the world of fine spirits. The self-guided tour includes a film and a tasting. The herb walk and distillery tour have different focuses: local plants and their uses in one, and the world of fine spirits in the other.
