Wheelchair-usable accommodations

In the section „Wheelchair accommodations“ we only list holiday apartments, hotels, bed and breakfasts and other accommodations which to us look like really being wheelchair-usable. We compile all related data by taking them from various sources. Depending on the country the standards for a wheelchair-friendly accommodations can vary. Before booking, you should always check if the accommodation really meets all requirements. To do so, please read the description of each accommodation in question carefully and if in doubt, do not hesitate to contact the landlord or the agency for further information.

There is still no international standardization of the term „wheelchair-usable“ or „wheelchair-accessible“ with the accommodations on offer. In our section „Wheelchair accommodations“ we try to present the characteristics of the wheelchair-friendly accommodations as transparent as possible. In case the object in question does have a certification or standardization, we mention this when describing the respective hotel or holiday apartment. A detailed explanation on what exactly the standards or certifications mean, can be found in the section „Wheelchair and tourism“. Our main attention does lie on the benefit for the wheelchair users. Saying so, we always try to give you information on the hotels and holiday apartments, but also on things like events, cultural life, services and other offers for wheelchair users.

We describe the results of the survey concerning all accommodations which have taken part in the inquiry. Of course the information given on the matter of barrier free accommodations is based upon the references provided by the landlords. We are sorry for not to be able to check all accommodations ourselves. However all landlords who want to join our survey, can do so by downloading and using our questionnaire.
