Hands-on railway history
At the Gramzow Railway Museum, children and adults can try out various trains and drive them themselves. The Gramzow Museum of Light and Private Railways has a permanent exhibition area of more than 7,000 square metres. You can therefore focus on trying out the trains or exploring the exhibition area.
The railway museum displays historic railway vehicles from different periods, as well as exhibitions on track construction, workshop operations, and railway operations and traffic services. Technical equipment can be seen outdoors and inside the buildings. On operating days, the Gramzow Railway Museum's museum railway offers rides on historic railway vehicles and the chance to drive handcars yourself. If a ride is important to you, check the operating days in advance.
Culture, views and history
The listed SPEICHER GRAMZOW is now an art venue for photography, language, literature and concerts. It hosts exhibitions, events and themed tours, and has a viewing floor. The observation platform on the ninth floor offers sweeping views beyond Gramzow and across the Uckermark.
St. Mary's Town Church in Gramzow is one of the largest fieldstone churches in the Uckermark. St. Mary's Church, for example, hosts concerts as part of the Uckermärkische Musikwochen and Gramzow Summer Music events. The ruins of Gramzow Monastery Church are considered a landmark of the oldest settlement in the Uckermark; the monastery was founded around 1200. The programme may vary for some events. Check the dates if you would like to plan your visit around a concert or guided tour.
