Laßbruch combines green spaces and water features along the Laßbach within the village with a themed hiking trail, a historic barn and an outdoor swimming pool. You can explore the village in different ways: take a closer look at the Way of the Senses, learn about the village’s history or discover what’s on offer by the water.

The Way of the Senses and the water features

The themed hiking trail “Way of the Senses” was created along the green spaces and water features on the Laßbach within Laßbruch. The approximately 6.9 km-long trail is a way to discover Laßbruch and Kükenbruch. The specified starting point is the car park at Laßbruch cemetery: Lange Straße 2, 32699 Extertal. The approximate length and stated starting point give you specific details to work with when adding the trail to your day’s plans.

One special stop is the “Water Whirlpool”: by turning a hand crank, you can watch a swirling motion take shape. This makes the subject of water tangible at this stop and invites you to look more closely rather than simply observe it from a distance.

A barn with a history

The village’s architectural history is also part of its character. The historic barn in Laßbruch was built of brick in 1907 and has been preserved in its original form, including its roof tiles. It is associated with the Wehfer family farm, which was once a Vogtei (a bailiwick). Its year of construction, brickwork and original roof tiles give the barn a distinctive character; the farm’s former function adds historical context to this architectural perspective.

Outdoor swimming pool and nature trail

Laßbruch outdoor swimming pool has a large pool, diving boards, a paddling pool and a spacious sunbathing lawn. If you plan to make a visit a fixed part of your itinerary, check the seasonal opening hours in advance. This lets you include the pool as a separate activity without making swimming the sole focus of your stay.

The quarry on Nüllberg in Extertal-Laßbruch offers a different perspective on the surrounding area: it is designated as a nature trail. Along with the green spaces and water features on the Laßbach and the Way of the Senses, this adds another nature-related attraction to the picture. Each place has a different focus: the Water Whirlpool centres on a movement you can observe, the barn on architectural history, and Nüllberg on its designation as a nature trail.
