Landscape, water and routes
In Dobbrikow, the Weinberg is a glacial deposit dating back to the Ice Age. From here, panoramic views extend across the surrounding hilly landscape. The dry grassland on the Weinberg is considered a natural monument in the region. You can discover the landscape here both by learning about its origins and by taking in the views of the surrounding area.
The lakes also vary in size and surroundings. Bauernsee is the largest of the five lakes bordering Dobbrikow, with a water surface area of 15.6 hectares. Its western shore borders the 50-hectare Dobbrikower Wiesen und Weinberg nature reserve. Glienicksee is a swimming lake with a nearby campsite and sandy beach. As swimming and camping conditions can change, it is a good idea to check them before your visit.
There are routes of various lengths to choose from for active days. The Pfefferfließroute is 20.3 kilometres long and runs alongside the Oberes Pfefferfließ nature reserve. The Wildgehegeweg circles the wooded Berkenbrück wildlife enclosure over a distance of 4.1 kilometres. These figures give you a specific indication of each route's length, but not of how long it will take to complete. Route lengths and courses may change, so check the latest information when planning your ride or walk.
The Flaeming-Skate is around 230 kilometres long and passes through forests, meadows and fields, away from road traffic. It is suitable for cycling, including for families and older people. In the wider destination of Teltow-Fläming, the district maintains the Flaeming-Skate and cleans it regularly. However, check the route conditions before setting off.
Culture and history
The church in Stülpe houses a Marian altar and a suspended baptismal angel. Visitors who pay attention to the individual details of a church interior will find two distinctive features here. The Oskar-Barnack-Museum in Lynow offers a different perspective on history. It opened in 1995 in Oskar Barnack's birthplace. Its exhibits trace the development of the original Leica and its successor models; the museum also provides insights into the history of 35 mm photography.
The Museums-Scheune in Jänickendorf depicts rural life as it was 100 years ago. The Hachschara-Stele in Ahrensdorf commemorates the former Hachschara site. Between 1936 and 1941, Jewish young people were prepared there to emigrate to Israel. The two sites offer different ways to explore the past, from rural daily life to the history of the Jewish young people who were prepared to leave the country there.
