Dallgow-Döberitz invites you to combine local history with time outdoors: the village church and water tower offer distinctive architectural features, while the Schwanengraben and paths into the Döberitz Heath draw your attention to the outdoors. The town is connected to the Havelland cycle routes and the long-distance E1 cycling route. The Havelland also offers regional nature and cultural themes that can be included in your plans.

Architectural heritage in town

Dallgow Village Church dates from the 14th century and is a rectangular late Gothic fieldstone building. Its masonry is made of large fieldstones. The church interior features an altar with angels, a wooden pulpit and a painted organ gallery. The building’s clear form and its distinctive interior details offer different architectural points of interest for visitors to the church.

The water tower on Wilhelmstraße is also a protected historic monument. It was built of brick using solid construction methods at the end of the 19th century. Its round shaft and polygonal upper floor combine two distinctly different architectural forms. On the B5 in Dallgow-Döberitz, the White Mary, also known as the Mourning Mary, commemorates prisoners who died in a prisoner-of-war camp in 1917. The sculpture was probably created by a French prisoner of war.

Walking, green spaces and cycling

The Schwanengraben is an extensive green space in the town. A hike through the Döberitz Heath starts and ends at Dallgow-Döberitz station and follows the Schwanengraben from the station. The station has borne this name again since 1998. At kilometer 3.4 of the circular hiking route through the Döberitz Heath, the Döberitz Heath Obelisk is a landmark along the way.

There is a clear rule for visiting the part of the former Döberitz Heath military training area that is open to the public: because of the risk from unexploded munitions, you may only enter it on marked paths. The Döberitzer Heide Nature Experience Center opened in 2024 in the surrounding area. It offers a multimedia exhibition on the biodiversity of the Döberitz Heath, adding a visit to an exhibition to the landscape experience.

Riding lessons are available at Gut Seeburg in the district of Seeburg in the municipality of Dallgow-Döberitz. Check the booking details before your trip. This means that, alongside hiking and cycling, riding lessons are another possible activity to include in your plans.

The Havelland as a distinct destination for excursions

In the Havelland, a roughly 1.5-kilometer-long nature trail with illustrated information boards runs along the southern shore of Lake Gülpe and introduces visitors to birdwatching. During the spring and autumn migrations, up to 100,000 geese and hundreds of cranes gather there; numerous waders, ducks and grey herons also visit. This makes the Havelland a seasonal nature destination distinct from the buildings and hiking trails in Dallgow-Döberitz.

The cycling routes in the Havelland also offer a distinct regional perspective. The numbered junction signs make it easy to put together individual cycling routes. The Havelland Cycle Route crosses the Havelländisches Luch, passing through Nauen, Ribbeck and Rathenow before reaching the Westhavelland Nature and Star Park. It is mostly paved, flat and pleasant to ride. For another cultural highlight, the Westhavelland Nature Park Center brings to life, for all age groups, topics including the lowland landscape, the renaturalization of the Lower Havel, Germany’s last great bustards and Germany’s first Star Park.
