Raddusch is located in the Spreewald Biosphere Reserve and combines experiences on the water, nature trails and village history. Trips into the Spreewald start at the developed natural boat harbour; educational and adventure trails explore nature themes and traces of the past.

Trails and wildlife watching

The Raddusch Moor Nature Trail is 13.5 kilometres long and can be explored on foot or by bicycle. The Dragonfly Trail starts at Raddusch Natural Harbour. This easy art and adventure trail is 2.0 kilometres one way and 4.0 kilometres there and back; it takes about an hour. This gives you a choice between a considerably longer route and a shorter trail with a defined duration. Please observe the Biosphere Reserve rules when exploring the Moor Nature Trail.

Right beside Raddusch Harbour, Dragonfly Park introduces children to the world of dragonflies through models. Two reclining loungers provide a place to watch the insects. The stork cameras also offer seasonal glimpses of nature: during the breeding and rearing season, they show live images from the nests at two nesting sites and provide information about the white stork and its habitat. The cameras are not active year-round.

Out on the water

Raddusch Natural Harbour has been a popular starting point for traditional trips through the Spreewald in wooden punts since 1920. In 1999, it was established as a departure point for waterway tours. The harbour is also accessible to people with disabilities.

In addition to traditional punt trips, you can rent paddle boats and canoes in Raddusch: the paddle boats are mostly two-seaters, and there are also several canoes. Rentals are available by the hour or by the day. This offers a choice of different ways to enjoy the water, from setting off in a wooden punt to hiring smaller boats.

Village history and culture

The Raddusch Historical Circular Walk is a signposted route through the village. Information boards explain the historical background to the stages of the village’s development. The Raddusch local history room is housed in the former home of the Müller family, right by the village square near the transformer house. Another historic landmark is the Raddusch Buschmühle: built in 1777 on oak piles, it served as a grain and oil mill. These historic sites offer different perspectives: the circular walk explains the village’s development through information boards; the Slavic fort is an archaeologically based reconstruction of a defensive structure, while the Buschmühle, built in 1777, illustrates another aspect of local history with its grain- and oil-milling functions and oak piles.

The Raddusch Slavic fort is a reconstruction of a historic defensive structure based on archaeological investigations carried out before open-cast lignite mining. As of 31 August 2026, it was closed to visitors until further notice. Please check its current status before planning a visit.
