Discover Sehlendorf through outdoor activities: you can walk along Sehlendorf Beach or explore the nature trail around Lake Sehlendorf by bike. The rules in force are also important when visiting the beach with a dog. The beach also has a beach mobility vehicle and four automatic alarm stations. When planning your trip, therefore, consider your preferred activity and—if you’re bringing a dog—the dates of your stay.

Beach walk or cycling tour

You can walk along Sehlendorf Beach. The nature trail around Lake Sehlendorf can be explored by bike. This gives you two different ways to spend time outdoors: a walk on the beach or a cycling tour around the lake. The difference lies in the mode of transport and the focus of the outing. This distinction can help you decide which activity you’d like to make the focus of your stay.

For families or groups, this difference can make it easier to discuss outings together. Talk about whether a walk or a cycling tour better suits the interests of your fellow travellers. If preferences differ, you can first agree on which activity should take priority during your stay; this doesn’t mean you need to set a fixed order for every day of your holiday.

Beach facilities

At Sehlendorf Beach, a beach mobility vehicle takes visitors from the main DLRG station to the beach and into the water. There are also four automatic alarm stations. If you’re factoring the beach mobility vehicle or alarm stations into your plans, check the current situation on site before relying on these facilities; visitor facilities may change.

At the beach with a dog

The designated dog beach is east of the small toilet building. From 1 April to 30 September, dogs are restricted to the designated dog beach. From 1 October to 31 March, they may be taken along the entire beach on a lead. The difference therefore concerns both the beach area dogs can access and the lead requirement. If you’re travelling with a dog, plan your beach visit around the specific date and check the rules in force again before you go. If your stay spans both periods, the date of each individual beach visit is what matters.

Plan your trip and accommodation

When looking for accommodation in Sehlendorf, you can start with your travel interests. Consider whether your plans are mainly shaped by a beach walk, a cycling tour or, if you’re travelling with a dog, the beach rules as well. That way, your choice reflects your own travel plans.
