Moorland and trails
The 8.09-kilometre Tarbeker Moor circular trail starts at Tensfeld Community Centre and loops around a restored moorland complex. From 1991 onwards, the moor was rewetted by damming the Tensfelder Au. Its moorland vegetation provides a habitat for many animal species; cranes have returned to the moorland around Tensfeld and neighbouring areas. Tensfelder Moor is considered an example of original moorland, with rare flora and fauna and significance for climate protection.
The Tensfelder Au circular trail also starts at Tensfeld Community Centre. It passes meadows, fields and small woods along the Tensfelder Au and is suitable for birdwatching. The trails have different focuses: the Tarbeker Moor circular trail is specifically listed as 8.09 km long and loops around the moorland complex; the Tensfelder Au circular trail explores the landscape along the stream and is suitable for birdwatching. Motorsport in Tensfeld
The MCE Tensfeld facility includes a motocross track on deep sand and a separate children’s track. Tensfeld is also home to the ADAC MX Academy, which offers taster courses and an advanced course for young motocross riders. General training days are offered for enduro, motocross and quad riders. Motocross and trial events take place at the ADAC motorsport venue in Tensfeld; MCE events also include the ADAC MX Masters.
