Siedenbollentin: Lake, Park and Village Church
Accommodation in Siedenbollentin
Discover Siedenbollentin by the lake and in its park: the swimming area, meadow beach and walking paths offer a range of experiences. There are also seasonal activities in the park and a village church with a special organ. When planning your trip, it is worth considering the season: in summer, time by the water and paths along the shore take centre stage; in winter, sledging and—if the lake freezes over—activities on the ice are possible.
Lake, Swimming Area and Meadow Beach
Siedenbollentin’s well-maintained park includes a lake with a swimming area. In summer, visitors can sunbathe on the meadow beach. A large playground is right next to the beach; immediately beside the playground is the Finnhütte, a kiosk. This means the beach, playground and kiosk are close together as distinct points of interest in the local visitor area. When planning your visit, you can combine time by the water, a play break and a stop at the kiosk.
Cooling off in the lake is also one of the summer options. Before swimming, it is advisable to check the conditions locally. The combination of park, lake and swimming area gives your visit a clear focus without requiring you to spend the whole day on a single activity.
Walking Paths and Lakeshore
Numerous walking paths, lined with English oaks, silver birches and black alders, lead to Lake Siedenbollentin. Paths along the shore, with benches, invite you to stroll and linger. The lake is up to 370 metres long and 210 metres wide. If you enjoy walking, you will find both paths leading to the lake and shore areas where you can take a break.
Winter Options in the Park and on the Lake
In winter, children can go sledging in the park on the hill known as the “toboggan hill.” Further activities on the lake depend on one clear condition: if it freezes over, anyone can sign up for an ice hockey tournament, play ice hockey with others or go ice skating. These ice activities therefore depend on the lake actually freezing over; sledging on the toboggan hill is a separate winter option in the park. This makes for a clear contrast when choosing when to visit compared with summer hours on the meadow beach and at the swimming area.
Village Church and Local Events
Siedenbollentin Village Church houses a Grüneberg organ dating from 1874. It is the master’s 153rd work and offers a cultural point of interest alongside the experiences in the park. The sports centre is also part of the local annual calendar: it holds a popular football school every summer. On 22 July 2017, the park festival was also held for the 53rd time as a traditional celebration.
When looking for accommodation in Siedenbollentin, you can start by considering what you want your stay to focus on: summer hours by the lake and beach, walks along the shore, or seasonal winter activities. For ice hockey and ice skating in particular, the lake freezing over remains the decisive requirement.
