Local History Museum and Town History

The Waldstetten Local History Museum covers topics ranging from geology, archaeology and fossils to archaeological finds and local history, as well as the world wars, the post-war period, expulsion and popular piety. Its program includes guided tours, special and themed exhibitions, talks, activities and a holiday program; refreshments are also available in the museum’s parlour. As some offerings may vary, check the dates before planning a visit.

A special focus is on local crafts such as bone turning, bead knitting and pipe making. The museum showcases historic bone turning, bead-bag knitting and the making of burl-wood pipes. This lets you experience these crafts not only as part of local history, but also through demonstrations.
