Bruckberg combines a nature trail in a side valley with a varied cycling route and distinctive buildings. You can shape your stay around outdoor activity and a look at the town's architectural history.

Sensory Trail and Margrave's Trail

The Sensory Trail in Bruckberg is about 3 km long and runs through a side valley. It is suitable for wheelchair users and strollers. If you are travelling with a stroller or need to take this suitability into account, this gives you a concrete point to consider when planning. Check local conditions before your visit.

The Margrave's Trail runs through Bruckberg from Wustendorf via Kleinhaslach and KehlmĂĽnz to MĂĽnchzell. It is mostly paved and well maintained, and takes a varied route from the plateau down into the valleys. For planning a cycling trip, its description offers different points of reference from the Sensory Trail: here, a sequence of named places and changing landscapes; there, a trail about 3 km long in a side valley. Which route you choose depends on which of these experiences best suits your plans.

Architectural history and distinctive forms

The former castle in Bruckberg was built in 1727 on the ruins of an old fortress. Its three-winged complex has a horseshoe-shaped floor plan, with round-arch arcades facing the garden. The floor plan and arcades give the building a striking architectural profile.

The former castle brewery and inn at FeuerbachstraĂźe 1 are also part of Bruckberg's architectural history. The two-storey solid building has a core dating from the second half of the 18th century. Alongside the castle, this former brewery and inn brings another historic architectural form into view.

St Martin's Church is visible from afar. Its distinctive onion-domed church tower is particularly striking. Together with the castle buildings described above, the church adds another architectural accent to Bruckberg.

More cultural destinations in the wider Ansbach travel region

In the wider Ansbach travel region, the Franconian Literature Trail in Wolframs-Eschenbach explores Franconian literature. The 2.2 km, accessible circular trail runs around the town fortifications. On 15 panels, you will encounter authors from the Middle Ages to the present day whose works deal with Franconia. The trail thus combines a circuit around the fortifications with a literary theme.

Also in the wider Ansbach travel region, the “wiegen & messen” (weighing & measuring) museum in Königshofen displays more than 4,000 exhibits. These include historical scales and their associated weights, cubit measures, yardsticks, and vessels for measuring grain. Its collection has a markedly different focus from the Literature Trail: historical measuring instruments and the objects measured with them are at its heart.
