Flörsbachtal: Cultural Trail, Circular Hike and Cycling

Flörsbachtal is located in the Spessart Nature Park and offers different ways to combine nature, culture and active exploration. The cultural trail “Flörsbach – Flörsbachtal 3” leads from a fountain in Flörsbach into an oak forest and to historic sites; the Spessart Trail “Lohrhaupter Widdehuh” is a 6.9-kilometre circular hike that returns to Lohrhaupten. There is also a cycling network connected to long-distance cycle routes throughout the Main Valley. The additional activities also vary considerably: Kneipp facilities are available only during the summer months, while horse-drawn and covered wagon rides are offered on request. A cultural trail between a fountain and an oak forest

The cultural trail starts at the fountain on Hauptstraße in Flörsbach and leads from there into the forest, which is rich in oak trees. Cycling also has its own network connection: the Flörsbachtal cycling network connects to the network of the Bavarian neighbouring municipality of Frammersbach, and from there to long-distance cycle routes throughout the Main Valley. Here, trip planning centres on connections between cycling networks rather than on a specific named circular route.

Seasonal Kneipp facilities and special experiences

There are Kneipp facilities in Flörsbach, Kempfenbrunn and Lohrhaupten, which are available only during the summer months. So if you would like to include these stops in your stay, the season is an important consideration.

The “Spessarträuber” of the Lohrhaupten local history and tourism association offer horse-drawn and covered wagon rides on request for a maximum of 15 people, lasting up to three hours. The group size and maximum duration provide a clear framework for planning the outing; the ride is offered on request.

Another activity is the staged robbery performance by the “Spessarträuber”: hikers are held up, taken prisoner and treated to 36% proof schnapps. As a staged event, this experience is clearly distinct from the hiking trails and their routes.
