Kremmin is predominantly agricultural: arable land makes up most of the municipal area. At the same time, the village lies within the “Agricultural landscape between Blievenstorf and Werle” landscape area (VI 3–5), whose landscape is rated as having medium to high conservation value. There is also grassland in the Meynbach valley; to the south, the Meynbach forms the state border with Brandenburg. The landscape therefore combines arable fields with a valley area used differently.

Landscape with protected areas

There are also distinctive landscape features within the wind potential area in Kremmin. In its southern part is a marshy arable depression protected under Section 20 of the NatSchAG M-V, surrounded by a belt of shrubs. Several small bodies of water protected under Section 20 of the NatSchAG M-V are also located within the wind potential area. These protected areas are therefore part of the landscape alongside the predominant arable fields and the grassland in the Meynbach valley.

Community and building history

The EFA (“One for All”) in Kremmin tells a story of community involvement: residents of Kremmin and Beckentin developed the grounds and buildings in their spare time. Today, football players train there, the municipal council uses the rooms for meetings, and the EFA is a venue for various events. Sport, municipal meetings and events are part of a place shaped by a shared history of its creation.

In Beckentin, the former manor house is a listed building. The manor house and the EFA offer contrasting points of interest: one is protected historic building fabric, while the other is a community-built place now used for a variety of purposes. Those interested in village life and architectural history will find different topics relating to Kremmin and Beckentin.

Hiking, mushroom picking and routes

The extensive woodlands around Kremmin offer opportunities for hiking and mushroom picking. Kremmin is also connected to the local cycling and riding trail network. This gives visitors different options: spend time on foot in the woods or include cycling and horse-riding tours in their plans. A cycle path between Grabow and Kremmin along the B 5 is documented for 2013. Check its route and condition before setting out today.

Excursions and community events

Nearby, the Grabow Museum is now housed in the listed birthplace of Grabower Küßchen. Also nearby, Grabow Canoe and Kayak Rental offers equipment for tours on the Müritz-Elde Waterway. The museum and a canoe trip appeal to different interests: a cultural discovery or an activity on the water. If you plan to visit either, check the opening hours or rental terms and current availability in advance.

Community events in Kremmin include a Maypole festival, a children’s and family sports festival, and Easter and October bonfires. For families hoping to include one of these events in their stay, the exact dates are key; check them before travelling.

Choose accommodation to suit your travel interests

If woodlands, hiking and mushroom picking are central to your trip, include the opportunities in the surrounding area in your plans. If you would also like to experience culture or activities on the water, consider the Grabow Museum and the canoe and kayak rental nearby. Community events may also be relevant to your travel plans, provided their dates fit your stay.
