Klein Rogahn combines local places of remembrance and historic buildings with paths into the Sieben Dörfer Moor. This offers two ways to explore: learn about local history through specific names and dates, or focus your stay more on cycling and walking routes.

Places of Remembrance and Building History

The Felix Stillfried monument in Klein Rogahn was inaugurated in 1912. Felix Stillfried, also known as Adolf Brandt, was a Low German writer and poet. He was born in Fahrbinde in 1851 and grew up in Klein Rogahn. A memorial stone for him by the pond was inaugurated in 1998. His biography connects Fahrbinde as his birthplace with Klein Rogahn as the place where he grew up; the memorial stone preserves this connection in the village.

Another historical feature in Klein Rogahn is the present-day Ruhkieck thatched-roof house at the Rundling. It was built in 1734/1735. Its location at the Rundling and its precise construction date add a distinct building-history theme to the places of remembrance: here, the focus is on a named building and its architectural style; there, on a person and the memory of them.

Routes and Landscape

Old farm tracks and cycle paths in Klein Rogahn invite you to cycle and walk into the Sieben Dörfer Moor. The cycle and footpath to Fasanenhof was built in 1999. These route options can help you plan your day: you can focus on getting active in the direction of the moor or make the route to Fasanenhof your destination.

The cycle tour that passes through Klein Rogahn follows cycle paths and is signposted as Tour 13. The “Tour from Grambower Moor to Lake Dümmer” also passes through Klein Rogahn. Check the current route before planning, as route conditions may change.

The Grambower Moor is also located near Klein Rogahn. From Grambow, a signposted circular trail and nature trail can be accessed there. This adds another named moor to the routes into the Sieben Dörfer Moor, along with specific points to help you plan: access from Grambow, as well as the circular trail and nature trail.

Culture in the wider destination of Ludwigslust-Parchim

In the wider destination of Ludwigslust-Parchim, Ludwigslust Palace offers a distinct cultural highlight. It was the former residence of the Dukes of Mecklenburg. The palace, park and town form an ensemble known as the “Little Versailles of the North.” Ludwigslust Palace is also the centrepiece of an almost entirely preserved late Baroque town layout, with a former court church and an English-style landscaped park. The palace presents art and courtly domestic culture from the 18th and early 19th centuries. While in Klein Rogahn the places of remembrance and the Ruhkieck thatched-roof house provide the local cultural connection, Ludwigslust focuses on courtly domestic culture and the late Baroque town layout.
