Neuhausen brings together traces of a long history, forest trails and outdoor discoveries. The first documented mention dates back to 1150; finds from the Neolithic period and Roman times have also been discovered within the municipality. The Galgenberg lies above Neuhausen: a small plateau with a pond and pine trees. You can shape your stay around historic places and village views, or explore the landscape along its trails.

Circular Trails, Local History and the WĂĽrm Valley

The Jubiläumsweg is a circular trail connecting all four districts of the municipality of Neuhausen. It passes through nature and historic village centres, and by local attractions. Along the way are, among other places, the Church of St. Urban and Vitus, the Kerker-Christi Chapel, the historic rectory and the St. Sebastian Chapel in Neuhausen. The route thus offers several perspectives on the local area rather than focusing on a single viewpoint or historic building.

In the Würm Valley, historic village views meet the landscapes of the northern Black Forest. Hikers can plan routes there largely along the Würm. The Jubiläumsweg connects all four districts; the Würm Valley offers another way to bring together scenery and historic views while hiking.

The Forest as a Place to Explore

The fairytale trail “The Forest Has Gone Mad” is designed as an opportunity to explore the forest. It features puzzles and QR-code stations; an accompanying audio drama was recorded by children from the municipality. This gives the fairytale route its own storytelling voice, while the stations invite visitors to think along.

The WaldKlimaPfad focuses on different questions: on site, visitors learn about climate change and sustainable regional uses of wood. Those interested not only in the forest as a landscape but also in how it is used will find a thematic counterpoint here to the puzzles and stories of the fairytale trail.

Churches and Traces of History

The Church of St. Sebastian in Neuhausen was built in 1475. Its Gothic interior has been preserved; it is particularly distinguished by a valuable wooden ceiling and richly carved altars. Together with the early finds and the first documented mention, the church anchors local history across different periods.

The St. Sebastian Chapel has a preserved Gothic interior dating from 1475 and is a concert venue. The local support association also offers guided excursions and visits. This makes it possible to combine the cultural focus with the historic stops on the Jubiläumsweg, without confusing the chapel with the Church of St. Sebastian.

Nature and Water

The BĂĽchelberg Nature Reserve is about 30 minutes from Neuhausen. Its heathland features juniper, silver thistles, gentians and orchids. These plants give the destination a different character from the pines on the Galgenberg or the trails along the WĂĽrm.

The Schellbronn Freizeitwellenbad has a wave and swimming pool with massage jets, a large sunbathing lawn, sports and children’s play areas, and a shaded paddling pool for toddlers. Opening arrangements are seasonal and may change, so check the current times before visiting.

The Enzkreis as a Regional Setting

The Enzkreis is in the Northern Black Forest region, in the heart of Baden-Württemberg between the metropolitan areas of Stuttgart and Karlsruhe; it surrounds the independent city of Pforzheim. The region’s hiking landscape includes the Black Forest, orchards, parks and gardens, as well as varied long-distance hiking trails. For cyclists, regional highlights include mountain biking in the hilly Black Forest, the Enz Valley Cycle Path and a larger network of cycle routes. This regional perspective complements Neuhausen’s specific trails and nature experiences without conflating them with the offerings of the entire Enzkreis.
