Altlußheim brings together hands-on technology, the history of hairdressing and opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities. Your trip can therefore encompass a range of interests: at the TECHNOLOGIE-ARENA, explore physics and technology hands-on; at Schnuteputzer's Hairdressing Museum, discover how a craft has changed over time. Playgrounds and a public drinking-water fountain add to the local attractions. Which of these you want to shape your stay can also guide your search for accommodation.

Technology and Craftsmanship Through the Ages

The TECHNOLOGIE-ARENA of the AUTOVISION Museum Foundation is an extracurricular learning venue for school classes and individual visitors. More than 80 hands-on learning models focus on physics and technology. Exploring these subjects through models offers a different perspective from simply looking at exhibits: visitors can investigate technical and physical concepts by handling the models.

Schnuteputzer's Hairdressing Museum offers a very different focus. Master hairdresser Willi Dörr presents the changing craft of hairdressing. The collection includes everyday objects and hairdressing equipment from the past 100 years, including various razor blades and soap. Rare and valuable collectibles are also on display: permanent-wave machines, complete salon interiors from 1860 to 2000, and hair pictures. Everyday items sit alongside special objects and insights into different eras of hairdressing.

Play, Drinking Water and Local Life

Altlußheim has six playgrounds for running around, climbing, exercising, swinging and playing ball. Families with children can include a variety of physical activities in their daily plans. Check the playgrounds’ current availability and condition before your visit.

There is a public drinking-water fountain at the pump track near the Rheinfrankenhalle. You can get fresh drinking water there free of charge and refill your own water bottles. Briefly check whether the fountain is operational before your visit.

Altlußheim’s street festival took place for the 44th time on July 4, 2026, as an open-air gathering. Local associations and the municipal administration organized it for residents and numerous guests. The stage program at Rathausplatz offered entertainment for children and adults. This date refers to that specific edition; if an event is to determine your travel dates, check the current schedule.

Other Perspectives in the Rhine-Neckar District

The wider Rhine-Neckar District offers other distinct cultural and culinary interests. The Electoral Palatinate’s Schwetzingen Palace has a Rococo theater and a world-famous park. In Ladenburg, much of the historic town center still reflects the Middle Ages and, in places, the Roman era. Asparagus has been grown in Schwetzingen for around 350 years. These examples offer their own points of interest in the Rhine-Neckar District and are distinct from Altlußheim’s technology and craftsmanship themes.
