Seinsheim combines vineyards, a lake on the edge of town, and the almost completely preserved fortified church complex with Gaden houses. The views, trails, and local history offer several clearly distinct highlights for your trip.

Wine Country, Lake, and Trails

The Seinsheim viewing platform is above the Seinsheim vineyards on HohenbĂĽhl, near the Weinparadiesscheune, and offers panoramic views. The lake lies between Seinsheim and the vineyards of the Seinsheimer HohenbĂĽhl wine-growing area; it is also on the edge of town in the direction of the Weinparadiesscheune. The two scenic spots therefore differ in location: the platform is above the vineyards, while the lake is between the town and HohenbĂĽhl.

There is a playground and a meadow by the lake; playgrounds are also located in all districts of the Seinsheim municipality. If you are traveling with children, you can use the lakeside playground as a specific point of reference when planning your day. The Seinsheim Tree Horoscope Trail runs by the lake. Playground information may change; check the latest status before your visit. Swimming is not permitted in the lake; follow the notices on site.

Trails with Different Distances

The 19 km Weinparadiesweg runs from Nenzenheim at Tannenberg via the Seinsheim viewing platform to Weigenheim, extending beyond Seinsheim. On the circular Wein mit Weitblick trail, a 300 m detour leads to the Old Quarry, with its impressive sandstone walls. The distance figures refer to different sections: 19 km for the entire Weinparadiesweg, and 300 m for the detour to the quarry. This distinguishes the full route from the detour.

There is a barbecue area by the shelter at BergbrĂĽnnlein. Its availability may also change; check the latest status before your visit.

Historic Places in Seinsheim

The almost completely preserved fortified church complex with Gaden houses in Seinsheim comprises 17 Gaden houses with cellars dating from the 15th century. The Gaden houses have stood since the 15th century and were part of the former fortified church. The complex thus combines preserved historic structures with their former role as part of the fortifications.

Another historical landmark is St. Peter and Paul Church: it was built between 1810 and 1814 and is the fourth church on this site. Compared with the 15th-century Gaden houses, its date shows that Seinsheim’s local history spans different historical periods.

The rooms in the Seinsheim church Gaden complex are used for celebrations, exhibitions, concerts, and cabaret. Individual events may vary; check specific dates before your trip. A guided tour in Seinsheim includes the church, the fortified church complex with Gaden houses, and the cellars. Coordinate arrangements with your guide or the local tourist information office.

Kitzingen as a Distinct Historical Highlight

The wider travel destination of Kitzingen offers another historical perspective through its architecture. Kitzingen’s town hall on the market square dates from the 16th century and was built by Hans Eckart von Schaffhausen in the Renaissance style. Kitzingen’s Market Tower is 39 meters high, was originally part of the inner town wall, and served as a watchtower and prison. These buildings belong to Kitzingen’s history and provide a distinct contrast to Seinsheim’s historic sites.
