Nature among the Mühlseen lakes, Isar meadows and Galgenbachweiher pond

The Neufahrn Mühlseen lakes lie north of the town and are part of the “Freisinger Moos and Echinger Gfild” landscape conservation area. A walking and cycling path runs along the lakes from Neufahrn and Massenhausen. The Isar meadows in Neufahrn are ideal for cycling, jogging and walking. The two areas offer different things: a walking and cycling path runs along the Mühlseen lakes, while the Isar meadows also invite visitors to jog and stroll. Galgenbachweiher pond borders the sports and leisure park and is a popular local recreation area.

Leisure and outdoor activities

The sports and leisure park includes a mini-golf course run by TSV Neufahrn and a Kneipp facility with foot-bathing and arm-bathing pools. The same park also has a skydiving facility with a 30-metre-high tower. There is a range of leisure activities here, from mini-golf to the Kneipp facility and skydiving facility.

The “neufun” leisure pool and sauna complex has a swimming pool as well as several saunas and steam baths. Courses include traditional swimming lessons and Aqua Zumba. If you would like to plan a course in advance, it is best to check the current schedule, as course times may change.

Culture in town

Since its renovation and ceremonial opening in September 2023, the listed Mesnerhaus has served as a venue for smaller cultural events. The Old Parish and Pilgrimage Church of the Holy Cross – St. Wilgefortis offers a different glimpse into local history: its Baroque interior features richly gilded altars and elegant stucco work. The church is associated with a pilgrimage that flourished in the 17th and 18th centuries, centred on a miraculous figure of Christ.
