Hiking and water near Quilow

The Peenetal River Landscape Nature Park borders Quilow directly. There are opportunities for hiking and water activities there. From Quilow, a path about 2.5 kilometres long leads across the fields to a passenger ferry to Stolpe, which also carries day-trippers with bicycles. The path and crossing make up two parts of the outing. Check the path conditions and ferry service before setting out.

On the Quilow side, cars are not permitted to drive up to the shore. Parking bays are available along the path to the water. Bear this restriction in mind when travelling to the shore or ferry.

History and sights

Klein Polzin is home to three megalithic tombs in and beside the Schnelle farmstead. Quilow Water Castle was renovated and reopened in 2020 for exhibitions, concerts, readings and workshops. The megalithic tombs are an archaeological highlight; the castle reopened with a broad cultural programme. If you plan to travel to Quilow for a particular event, check the current programme in advance, as individual programmes may change.

Quilow also has a seasonal information centre in the former fire station. If you would like to include it in your plans, check its current opening hours in advance. The “Trabbi” barn is another sight in the municipality of Groß Polzin.
