Damp brings together a harbor, beach and protected natural areas, offering a range of holiday experiences. If you’re looking for accommodation in Schlei-Ostsee, you can start by considering what you’d like to focus on during your stay: time by the water, sports, walks or special leisure activities. Damp offers plenty of options, from the harbor and main beach to paths through the coastal landscape.

Harbor life and the beach in Damp

Damp harbor has a promenade, visitor berths and modern sanitary facilities. There’s also a snack bar, ice cream and a supermarket. The marina has space for up to 365 boats at 14 piers. So when planning your stay around the harbor, you can enjoy maritime views and practical amenities alike.

The main beach has beach facilities, as well as sections for dogs and nudists. A stand-up paddleboard rental service operates there during the summer months. Surfing, sailing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding and water skiing are also available. Aktionsstrand and SĂĽdstrand are about four kilometers long. Check the beach conditions before you travel. Aktionsstrand also has an accessible beach entrance; check the access conditions in advance.

Coastal paths and protected nature

The coastal path leads through the Schwansener See nature reserve, which is part of the Natura 2000 protected areas network. If you’d like to experience a protected landscape as well as enjoy a beach stay, you’ll find a dedicated nature experience here. Another hiking trail runs right along the coast between OstseeResort Damp to the south and OstseeResort Olpenitz to the north. This coastal route offers another way to add a hike to your stay.

You can plan your holiday around different interests: the beach and water sports, a walk through the nature reserve or a hike along the coast.

Leisure activities and special places

Damp’s Entdeckerbad has a large outdoor pool with views of the Baltic Sea. It is also home to Germany’s first Viking-style sauna. If swimming and sauna time are part of your plans, check the latest information about the facilities before your visit.

For a different kind of leisure experience, there’s Funhalla, an indoor activity hall covering more than 3,500 square meters. The Damp water-skiing and wakeboarding park is also right on the Baltic Sea. The activities offer a range of options, from indoor fun and swimming and sauna experiences to outdoor water sports.

At Südstrand, the net swing serves as a hammock and viewing point, offering a place to rest during an active holiday. It is the only one anchored directly in the beach sand. Before your visit, check whether its condition meets your expectations for a break. The Viking golf course is another distinctive attraction: it is right on Damp’s beach promenade and has 18 holes.

A glimpse of history and architecture

Gut Damp was built in 1595 in the Renaissance style. This historic building adds a cultural dimension to the beach and nature experiences. Together with the Viking golf course, Entdeckerbad and waterside activities, it offers a varied selection from which you can choose what best suits your interests.
