Rott is a quiet mountain village with wonderful hiking trails. Two routes offer different points of reference for planning: the Rotter Runde and the Kasselweg. Both start and end at the car park of Ferienpark Rott on Siegfried-Helbich-Straße in 32699 Extertal-Rott. Sharing a start and end point makes navigation straightforward; route length and scenery are also factors to consider when choosing.

Hiking in Rott: Rotter Runde and Kasselweg

The Rotter Runde is seven kilometres long and has a marked shorter option. It passes through the varied, small-scale mountain landscape of the Rintelnschen Hagen and the neighbouring Weser Uplands. The route also takes you to the XXL bench with a view. The landscape and a named viewpoint are therefore both features of this tour.

The Kasselweg (A3) is a marked hiking trail in the Extertal districts of Rott and Bremke. Its variants are 3.5 to just under six kilometres long. They follow narrow paths and lovingly laid stone steps through the Kasselbachtal and up to the heights of the Kösterberg. This gives the trail a different landscape profile from the Rotter Runde.

If you compare the routes by length first, the Kasselweg variants range from 3.5 to just under six kilometres; the Rotter Runde is seven kilometres long and also has a marked shorter option. The routes also have different highlights: the Kasselweg features paths and stone steps in the Kasselbachtal, while the Rotter Runde takes in varied mountain scenery and the XXL bench with a view. This information offers an initial overview without requiring you to commit to a particular tour.
