Discover Lieblingshof through the history of the estate, nature and landscape conservation in the surrounding area, and local events and traditions. The estate began in 1799; the manor house was built later in brick. There are also nature areas along the Kösterbeck, yoga at the Kulturhaus and the traditional Apfelhoffest. When planning your trip, you can decide whether to focus on local history, the landscape or an event date. This can also help you search for accommodation near the places and events that matter to you.

Nature and landscape in the surrounding area

Gut Lieblingshof in Lieblingshof is in the immediate vicinity of the Kösterbeck Nature Reserve. The Wolfsberger Seewiesen peat cuttings are in the wider surrounding area. The 19.95-hectare area is designated a large-scale natural monument; the occurrence of valuable plant species is cited as a key reason for its designation. Also in the wider surrounding area is the “Wolfsberger Seewiesen” Landscape Protection Area between Teschendorf, Petschow, Lieblingshof and Groß Lüsewitz. It is a contiguous lowland moor area along the Kösterbeck lowlands and is used mainly as grassland and pasture. Its conservation objectives include preserving and properly managing extensive grassland areas, as well as safeguarding their recreational function.

The operation of Gut Lieblingshof includes keeping pension animals in a nature-friendly way on adequate land and pasture areas within the Kösterbeck Nature Reserve. This is carried out in cooperation with the organic farm Gut Darß in Born; nature-friendly animal husbandry can be guaranteed there. For orientation, it is helpful to distinguish between the locations: the estate is directly next to the Kösterbeck Nature Reserve, while the peat cuttings and the Wolfsberger Seewiesen Landscape Protection Area are in the wider surrounding area.

The manor house and the origins of the estate

Work on the new Lieblingshof estate began in 1799 on the land of the Gut Kokendorf estate under Christian Ludwig Graf von Bothmer. The Lieblingshof manor house was built in brick in 1830/40. The two dates refer to different stages: the beginning of the estate and the later construction period of the manor house. Those interested in the history of the area can therefore consider the beginnings of the estate and the historic building as separate points of reference, rather than conflating the two dates.

Yoga and the Apfelhoffest

Yoga is offered at the Kulturhaus Lieblingshof on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm. As schedules may change, check the offering before your trip. The Apfelhoffest is celebrated in Lieblingshof as a traditional festival; the association invites visitors to attend. Check in advance when the festival takes place and whether it is open to the public. The two events offer different planning cues: a weekday and time are given for yoga, while you should check the specific date for the festival. If one of these events is a deciding factor for your trip, check the date before choosing accommodation based on it.
