Kaisersbach brings together water, forests and cultural history, offering a range of reasons to visit. At Ebnisee, activities range from swimming to summer boat trips; outside the swimming season, the surrounding area is ideal for a longer hike. Protected gorges, two 14th-century mills and an amusement park complete the picture. When choosing accommodation, it helps to first decide which experiences you want to shape your stay.

Water and protected gorges

With a water surface of more than six hectares, Ebnisee is the largest lake in the Swabian Forest. It was created in the 18th century for timber rafting in the Welzheimer Forest. Its present-day use as a swimming lake thus sits alongside a history connected with transporting timber.

Hägelesklinge and Brunnenklinge lie between the Kaisersbach districts of Ebersberg and Täle; both have been nature reserves since 1969. Together, the open lake and protected gorges reveal another facet of the landscape.

Experience Ebnisee in Every Season

Ebnisee is used for swimming; in summer, pedal boats and rowboats are also available. Outside the swimming season, the landscape is ideal for a longer hike around the lake and through the surrounding forest. In summer, boating adds to swimming; outside the swimming season, a hike can be the focus of a day out.

There are approximately 300 fee-paying parking spaces at Ebnisee; check the current parking situation before setting out. Accessible toilets are available at the kiosk by the car park and at the Waldschenke at Ebnisee. If needed, check the situation when you arrive.

Three times a year, the Ebniseeverein, together with the Swabian-Franconian Forest Nature Park, organizes “Ebnisee for All.” The program includes activities and workshops for people with and without disabilities. This offers another way to experience Ebnisee, alongside swimming, boating and hiking.

Mills as a Testament to the Use of Water

In the eastern part of the municipality, the Menzlesmühle, a watermill dating from the 14th century, lies along the Mill Hiking Trail. It has an overshot waterwheel. The Ebersberger Mühle in the Täle valley of the Blinden Rot also dates from the 14th century and has been powered by a turbine since the 1920s. The waterwheel and turbine represent different technical aspects of Kaisersbach’s milling history.

Amusement Park, Hiking Trails and Cycling Tours

Schwaben Park in Kaisersbach is a family amusement park with more than 60 attractions. Kaisersbach also offers hiking trails through the Swabian Forest and cycling tours. This gives you a choice of different ways to spend your time: nature trails and cycling tours, or the park’s attractions.

Compare the location of your chosen accommodation with the excursions you have planned. This will help you choose a base that suits the mix of water, nature and leisure activities you want from your stay.
