The abbey preserves medieval architectural elements from the transition between Romanesque and Gothic styles. Monrepos Castle is home to the Museum for the Archaeology of the Ice Age. Around 40 kilometers of the Rhine Cycle Route run through the district; this section is considered easy and is easily accessible by train and bus.
